Ok, for some reason the audio is not working on this version of my showreel. Its such a darned shame because I used a wonderful song composed by Vinicio Capossela that really suits the animation. Its so frustratin so if anyone has any ideas as to why it hasn't uploaded or recognised the audio in the upload please let me know. Its an AVI by the by.

So I scraped together a bit o time and changed this around a bit. I really hope to get the background done by the end of wednesday if I can get the time that is. Then I shall venture forth into the great unknown...colouring or coloring for SteVen coz he says I'm americanised now :)

yet more sketches! The conan image is one i'm workin on at the moment. I've promised myself to colour it, its quite obvious from all the images i've posted that I shy away from colouring. This must change!!!!! The second image is a random sketch, it was kind of an exercise in illustrating various types of faces. El Tigre had its premier in the States on satuday. It went down a huge success so we are all very happy about that in the studio. I really think this show is gong to be huge!!! Enjoy the pics.

This is the credit listings of animators from the first showing of El Tigre. Not everyone is up there though as it will work on a rotational basis. It feels great to get the credit. So Cudos to Nickelodian! Credit where credit is due feels pretty good.

This is a sketch I did as part of the development of an animated short i hope to do. The short is based around the beginings of life on earth and these guys are the primary lifeforms, well the only life forms hanging around.....single cell organisms. I want to develop this idea in that classic Warnor Bros. looney toon style animation and beat....not very original I know but it would be a blast to do..........now to just find some time. I'll look under the couch, gotta be some time under there....

Fantastic 4

I just watched the add for the new Fantastic 4 movie. It looks pretty good, at least the Chase between the human torch and silver surfer looked good. I loved the way the silver surfer dealt with human torch by dragging him into space to extinguish him then just let him plummet to his inevitable rescue by the rest of the team....sigh. I've never seen the first movie as quite frankly the only reason to watch it i can see is Jessica Alba. And as amazing looking as she is its still not reason enough to sit through what I'm sure is a horrific movie. After watching the clip of the second movie I was inspired to do a sketch of the human torch, I've never actually drawn a pic of any of the FF before. anyway here it is.....

About time

I figure its about time I pop back in and write something to........well, I think only one person has viewed my blog so far. So this is for you!!! This is a sketch of some characters I'd like to animate in a short about Le Pacour. I recon it'd be really interesting to have these guys bouncing around an urban/industrial environment. I've done a couple of short tests which i'll post later.

Sand man

This is a Quick sketch of SandMan I did a couple of days ago. I've started reading this title reciently and my god what an amazing comic book!!! When it first came out I was too busy reading things like DeathBlow, Wildcats and other Image publications to pay much mind to this title. Silly me, but atleast I can enjoy the mamoth backlog of graphic novels. Again this is done in flash.

This pic was done for a comic book called Freak Show, which is a small Irish publication. Again it is done in flash.

OK! Its 5:41 on sunday evning and I have a massive hangover! Was at a party last night, that was pretty good! Full of beautiful Spanish and German women! Fantastic! I was also, interestingly, at the recieving end of my first "ism" last night. A polish chap wouldn't talk to me because he hates Irish people. It seems strange to me that a person can come to a country and surround himself with people he hates. I suppose money really is the biggest motivating factor humanity has to offer. It was a very strange experience, and very off putting. Anyway! A small blemish on an otherwise great night.
